The take-everywhere Patagonia Atom Backpack blends just the right amount of organization and close-fitting comfort. A custom branded Atom Pack is the perfect way to tell your weekend warrior team members you appreciate them. Offered with expert embroidery your corporate logo is promised to stand out and stand the test of adventure.

The Patagonia Atom Pack carries just what you need for a day of traveling, a day at work—or better yet, a day of moving through big, open sky country. It has a large, zippered main pocket to hold a jacket, lunch and your guidebook, along with stretch-woven pockets (one with a zipper) to carry small, easily lost items. A side-entry zipper located by the padded back panel provides quick access to a protective, soft-lined electronics pocket that holds a tablet or 13" or smaller laptop. On the front of the pack, a long zip-closing stash pocket keeps plane tickets, sunglasses and your breath mint collection handy. Two exterior daisy chains provide lashing options for securely holding a yoga mat or bike lock. Highly breathable mesh pads the shoulder harness and back panel to wick moisture, dry quickly and increase ventilation. A reinforced grab handle lets you carry the Atom briefcase-style. Made from 630-denier 100% nylon (50% recycled/50% high-tenacity) plain weave. The lining is 200-denier 100% recycled polyester. Both with a polyurethane coating and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

    Technical Specs

    Durable Water Repellent

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated, enabling the breathable barrier to do its job. Patagonia has long relied on a DWR with perfluorinated compound (PFC) but we have been searching diligently for an alternative because of its harmful environmental impacts.

    Recycled Nylon

Although we’ve been using recycled polyester in our garments for 20 years, for some reason locked deep in polymer chemistry, nylon is more difficult to recycle than polyester. After years of research, development, and testing, we’re finally finding some recycled nylon fibers that are suitable for apparel.
Some of the recycled nylon we use comes from post-industrial waste fiber, yarn collected from a spinning factory, and waste from the weaving mills that can be processed into reusable nylon fiber.
We’re diligently searching for a success story with recycled nylon. The challenge lies ahead of us, and we’re committed to discovering the best methods to recycle nylon fiber, but it appears this evolution will take many years.
